MIDWEST CITY, OK

MEADOWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH

CURRENTLY IN PROGRESS

The Southwest Library in Oklahoma City is owned by the City of Oklahoma City and is operated by the Pioneer Library System. With input and coordination from stakeholders, the finished building is a beautiful and high functioning facility in which every one was proud to be involved.

The interior of the building was outfitted with the latest in library technology. The open ceiling space exposes the truss work and duct system to give the space a light and open feel. The books, shelves, and furniture provide much of the color in the library itself. Most of the walls and structure are off white to reflect light with select areas highlighted with color on the walls to define dedicated areas such as youth and children's spaces. In addition to the Southwest Library being a beautiful and highly functional space, it is also outfitted with several sustainable concepts. The most apparent  is the daylighting system. The placement of windows allows for direct and indirect sunlight to illuminate the interior.

This project was led by the founding partners and principal architects of Integrated Architecture, Charles Bodiker and Nate Baker, while they were still under employment at Crafton Tull Sparks. The design team was a partnership with MSR.
